When it comes to tourism in Spain, there’s no way you can’t bring up Benidorm.
Known as the “New York of the Mediterranean”, the region located on Spain’s eastern coast has been a tourist hotspot for decades and certainly the case for British tourists.
Just halfway through 2024, the city welcomed a whopping 2.7 million visitors, and according to Benidorm Travel Mart, most international visitors came from the UK.

A third user said: “Benidorm is fine if you ignore the small area with the p***** up Brits. Go a few streets away from the strip, and it’s fine.”
However, the comments made about the city weren’t all bad. Many users actually defended the seaside resort that is known for its cheap prices.
One Redditor said: “It’s got the nice side and the bonkers seedy side. Sex shows in bars, hen do’s, bachelor parties. Just a belting place to be. Cheap and cheerful party town.”
Despite what is said about the destination, there is no doubt that it doesn’t boast a number of great qualities, which makes it a great holiday option for Brits.
From the bargains and great weather to the fact that it is only a couple of hours away. There are so many reasons why it is a number one choice for many – but perhaps the behaviour whilst out there could be worked on a little bit.
One of the most visited countries in the world, Spain, is introducing a new set of restrictions this year, following the number of anti-tourist protests that un
