On January 27, Catherine Spindler will assume the role of president Sephora Europe and Middle East. She will succeed Sylvie Moreau, and will report to Guillaume Motte, CEO of the selective perfumery retailer owned by the LVMH group.
Spindler joined French sportswear brand Lacoste in 2019 as brand director, and was named deputy managing director in September 2022. She started her business career at Guerlain, then worked for the Rocher group in various communication and marketing roles from 2001 to 2014, before becoming vice-president of the Pierre Ricaud brand. She then joined the Veepee group as chief marketing officer, and later assumed the post of managing director for the French market.
“Catherine Spindler’s mission will be to continue to pursue Sephora’s growth trajectory in Europe and the Middle East with our talented staff, gaining market share in a region where Sephora is long-established. She will continue to elevate our brand and customer experience at every touchpoint in our journey, while building loyalty. She will contribute her strong international expertise in omni-channel retail, acquired at Vente-Privé and Lacoste,” said Motte.
Sephora was bought by LVMH in 2017, and currently operates 3,000 stores worldwide. According to beauty industry experts, in 2023 it generated a revenue of more than €14.35 billion, and it plans to reach €20 billion in the medium term.
