If you’re searching for party-season style inspiration, look no further than Saoirse Ronan. The actress proved that sometimes the simplest fashion can be the most impactful when she appeared on The Graham Norton Show this week.
The actress, who is promoting her new film Blitz, appeared on the famous sofa wearing a an elegant black one-shoulder dress made from a textured, glittering fabric. The loose-fitting style fell to a midi length and featured one draped sleeve.
With a simple dress, it can be tempting to overcompensate with the styling and glam, but Ronan kept it beautifully restrained, pairing the look with classic black pumps and bare legs, plus a pair of small huggy hoops with single diamond stones. She wore her hair in a sleek centre-parted bun, with bronzed, glowing skin and just a touch of mascara, and a sophisticated taupe manicure.
The 30-year-old appeared on the chat show alongside fellow actors Denzel Washington, Eddie Redmayne and Paul Mescal. She made headlines following the airing of the show, when she interjected the conversation with a comment relating to women’s safety.
Redmayne had been explaining that, while training for his new miniseries, The Day of the Jackal, he was taught how to use a phone in retaliation in the event of an attack. Mescal remarked, “Who is actually going to think about that? If someone actually attacked me, I’m not going to go ‘phone’.” Ronan then stepped in and said, “That’s what girls have to think about all the time.” Following a pause, she added, “Am I right ladies?” which was met by cheers and applause from the audience.
