Reeves defends ‘tough decisions’ as Labour showdown over winter fuel cut looms
EMBARGOED TO 2230 SUNDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 2024 Prime Minister, Keir Starmer and Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves visit PsiQuantum, the world’s largest quantum company, in Daresbury near Liverpool. The company backed by �9 million of UK government funding, is a research and development facility with the aim of building the world’s first large scale quantum computer, capable of solving complex problems. PsiQuantum’s new facility at Sci-tech Daresbury gives it access to STFC’s leading cryogenics experts, at one of Europe’s largest liquid helium cryogenic plants.
