Rafael Nadal has ventured into the nutrition industry as he prepares to call time on his glittering tennis career. The veteran Spaniard is set to retire after next month’s Davis Cup Finals, where he will represent Spain in his final tournament.

It seems Nadal has already decided on his plans for life after tennis, with the 38-year-old having launched a new business venture. He is the face of food supplement brand NDL Health, which has been founded in collaboration with Cantabria Labs.

The new line of supplements will cater to men and women aged 35 and over who regularly participate in sport and exercise. The brand’s main goal is to help people lead an active and healthy lifestyle by providing them with the right nutrition.

Nadal shared a video on Instagram to explain the significance of his new project. In the short clip, a voiceover says: “Rafa’s attitude, his spirit of self-improvement can only be found by listening to and taking care of our body, because health is victory.

“That is what he has created, in partnership with Cantabria Labs: NDL. Dietary supplements to help you lead an active and healthy lifestyle and to be your best version every day.

“An attitude that is contagious that pushes us to overcome ourselves. To keep trying, again and again.”

Nadal is already a successful businessman and will be hoping for his new venture to deliver a significant return on investment. He has several existing businesses including a clothing line with Tommy Hilfiger, a hotel in Mallorca and an investment company.

The tennis legend is also involved in the UIM E1 World Championship, the world’s first all-electric powerboat series. He is one of several celebrity backers alongside the likes of Tom Brady, Will Smith, Didier Drogba and Virat Kohli.

Charity work is another important aspect of Nadal’s life away from the tennis court. His main endeavour is the Rafael Nadal Foundation, which was established in 2008 and aims to promote education and sport among underprivileged children.

The foundation has an educational programme which provides school supplies, tutoring, and other resources to children in need. It also promotes the importance of physical activity and healthy living through tennis as part of its sport programme.

Nadal also operates the Rafa Nadal Academy, which works with talented children and young adults with the aim of helping them develop into world-class tennis players.
