Kent Cricket have recently played host to two Disability Schools Festivals, hosting twenty primary and secondary teams at Kings Hill Cricket Club, in partnership with Active Kent & Medway.
On Wednesday 19 June, it was the Primary Schools Festival, with ten teams playing Rapid Fire games on the outfield. Thursday 20 June was the turn of the Secondary Schools, with another ten teams playing softball pairs cricket in teams in an Outdoor 24 format. The schools travelled from various areas of the county to play in a number of fun, fast paced games.
These schools are part of a growing SEND network delivered to by Brian Gasking (Disability Schools Lead) who commented “it is great to see how Kent Cricket’s growing presence in schools is enabling a wider network of schools to access these competitions. Partnering with Active Kent & Medway in the past few years has resulted in some fantastically attended events and plenty of cricket played for all abilities and ages.”
