The Beetlejuice sequel seems to be having big impact on the fashion sector. First we heard of Winona Ryder fronting the latest Jimmy Choo campaign fresh from her appearance in the movie. And now Primark has linked up with Colleen Atwood — the costume designer who worked on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, among others — for a new collection.
In a deal with Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products, Primark is launching an exclusive collection inspired by the movie that debuts this week.
The 12-piece clothing collection is designed in collaboration with four-time Academy Award winning costume designer Atwood (who also worked on the original Beetlejuice film), and we’re told it “captures the essence of this fall’s long-awaited sequel through a range of distinctive womenswear pieces, celebrating the return of the iconic character with a fashion-forward twist”.
There are black and white striped suits, co-ords, and lace-adorned dresses inspired by the film’s costumes and embracing the goth aesthetic.
Primark has launched a hug range of collabs in recent periods, ranging from the quirky, like its Greggs collection, to the celeb-focused link-ups of its Rita Ora deal.
It will launch the newest collab in stores globally with a wide offer beyond the main Atwood pieces also including graphic T-shirts, hoodies, and accessories. There’s also kidswear with “nostalgia-fuelled jumpers and knitwear”.
And on the beauty front, there are “goth-glam beauty tools, including make-up brushes, a scalp massager, and hair accessories”.
In interiors, it’s offering a selection of dark-coloured duvets, monochrome cushions, and spooky-themed home accessories.
