Shoppers wanting to visit the clothing chain’s shop in Golden Square Shopping Centre will have seen that it was not open for business.
Golden Square said in a social media post that the temporary closure was due to ‘current weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances’.
Now, Primark has issued a statement confirming the reasons for the closure of the town centre store – and given an update on trading hours this week.
A Primark spokesman said: “We can confirm that our Warrington store is closed today, Monday, due to flooding resulting from a burst pipe.
“We are really sorry to any customers who had hoped to shop with us today.
“We are working hard to resolve this and hope to reopen the store tomorrow morning, Tuesday.”
It was reported previously that Warrington Bus Station is also closed due to a burst pipe, with videos showing water pouring into the building from the ceiling.
In its social media post, Golden Square said: “Due to current weather conditions, and unforeseen circumstances in store, Primark will be closed today, temporarily.
“You can still order online for their click-and-collect service. Thank you in advance for your understanding.”
