Luke Littler to Sky Sports after beating Luke Humphries: “It was a weird final. We both weren’t playing well. Now and again I look up at the screen and we’re both on a 90 average. I was like, ‘this is a weird game’. The crowd got involved, Kirk made them worse and I missed my shot. Luke was 5-4 up and I’m just thinking ‘break him’. I did well to hit a 10 darter and a 11 darter and that was crucial.”

On his form: “You’ve just got to keep going. With the pro tours involved, [it’s] good match practice. That’s why I’ve brought the gold darts back on the second pro tour. I’ve come here tonight using them. Thrown really well on the practice stage, then I was 5-1 down against Rob, I just had to pull it out the bag and I did.”

On coming from 5-1 down in the quarter-finals against Rob Cross: “I think getting past Rob, the comeback was unbeliveable. It’s all down to myself taking it up to a 104 just touch 105 average, then I felt really confident against Michael. The final was a weird, weird game.”

On his 170 checkout during the match: “It’s been a while since I hit one.”

On his focus after losing in the quarter-finals in Belfast: “Just qualify. Coming to tonight, just win that first game and get myself some points on the board. When I found myself 5-1 down, I was like ‘it’s still looking good’. I was down 5-1 and then you get a few longs on the bounce and my confidence, it just hit the roof and I managed to pull it back.”
