Substitute Lucas Weaver looked to have given Boro a vital victory, scoring in the 85th minute – only for the hosts to equalise deep in to stoppage time.

Weaver’s goal came 10 minutes after Mateusz Hewelt capped a fine display by saving a penalty and brilliantly keeping out the follow-up – but he was to be denied a fourth straight clean sheet away from home.

“Unfortunately a lapse in concentration has led to them getting an equaliser but on paper it is a good result,” Morley told the club website. “It is shame we haven’t had our fourth consecutive clean sheet away from home but it wasn’t meant to be and we have got to take the positives out of the game.

“Defensively, midfield, up front, we were magnificent on the night and we have got to brush ourselves down and go again on Saturday. I think defensively we have done really well against them….credit to the back three but shout out to Mateusz, I thought he was outstanding.”

It has been a frustrating few days for Boro after Saturday’s clash at Curzon Ashton was abandoned at half time with the hosts leading 2-1 – although the point at Peterborough does take them out of the bottom three of National League North.

Attentions now turn to Saturday’s home clash with Darlington and Morley is looking forward to renewing acquaintances with a club he and joint boss Anthony Johnson know very well.

Darlington are currently 15th in the table, five places and five points above Boro so Morley is expecting another tough test.

“We have had some great battles over the years with Darlington,” said Morley. “We came right through with Darlington at Ramsbottom, we then had some good times with them at Salford, then at Chester and on to Spennymoor and now Radcliffe.

“We know that it will be a tough game but every single game in this league is a tough game.

“We will want to win the game, just like Darlington will, but if we apply ourselves and do what we have done, and don’t lose concentration in the last minute of the game, then we back ourselves to beat anybody on our day.

“But ultimately, the positive side (this season), we have found a way to win, we have found a way not to lose and we have found a way to defend as a unit.

“We are getting numbers in the box, we are creating chances…so we look forward to Saturday. We train Thursday and we go in with a positive attitude.”
