The Pantone Color Institute has chosen Mocha Mousse 17-1230 as colour of the year 2025. A warm, very light brown hue, full of innate richness and hinting at the colour of a cocoa pudding, or a coffee and chocolate mousse, reflecting people’s yearning for comfort.
“Underpinned by our desire for everyday pleasures, Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embracing aspirational feelings and luxury. Infused with subtle elegance and earthy refinement, it features a touch of discreet, delicate glamour,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.
“The everlasting search for harmony filters through into every aspect of our lives including our relationships, the work we do, our social connections and the natural environment that surrounds us,” said Laurie Pressman, vice-president of the Pantone Color Institute. “Harmony brings feelings of contentment, inspiring a positive state of inner peace, calm, and balance as well as being tuned in with the world around us. Harmony embraces a culture of connection and unity as well as the synthesis of our mental, spiritual and physical well-being,” she added.
With its rustic yet sophisticated elegance, Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse can be used on its own or as a versatile chromatic base, enhancing a wide range of palettes and styles, from the most minimalist to those rich in details, in all sectors for which colour is a foundational element.
