Pangaia has linked to the ongoing contemporary arts fair Frieze Week (9-13 October) in London’s Regent’s Park. How so? The environmentally-focused lifestyle apparel brand has partnering with Sarah Caulfield, commissioning the artist to hand-paint a collection of unique garments for the occasion.
Launching on 10 October, the limited-edition Hyperlocal Capsule will take centre stage at Pangaia’s recently-opened flagship store on London’s Carnaby Street.
The 75-piece unisex collection, each hand painted by the Bristol-based artist and accompanied by a numbered and dated certificate of authenticity, features intricate illustrations inspired by native UK flora that flow across the back to form the word ‘Pangaia’.
It comprises a hoodie and both long and short-sleeve T-shirts featuring the brand’s signature oversized, minimalist design serving as canvases for the floral motifs. Prices are £100-£165.
Made from heavyweight cotton grown through regenerative farming practices, “the cotton contributes to restoring nature, improving soil health, and supporting farmers” while the collection “combines traditional craftsmanship with Pangaia’s commitment to an Earth-Positive Future”.
The current capsule collection is the latest in an ongoing series, “designed to celebrate Biodiversity Optimism by inspiring and motivating collective participation in preserving our planet’s biodiversity”.
