British luxury outerwear brand Marfa Stance has made its official, albeit temporary, return to New York City, opening two pop-up stores in the city.
The first, a flagship on the Upper East Side, is open until 29 December, while the second, in the brand’s “favourite downtown spot” in Tribeca, remains in residence until 31 October.
Founded by Georgia Dant, Marfa Stance “challenges the status quo by creating pieces that are designed to be enhanced, rather than replaced,” we’re told. A “collection of continuity”, the brand features hand-made garments and buildable accessories “engineered for year-round wearability and versatility thanks to their clever layering capacity”.
Dant said: “Opening two stores in our home away from home in NYC is a monumental moment for Marfa Stance. Despite being a British-founded and designed brand, we have an incredible community and following in the US, so NYC made perfect sense to expand our retail presence across the pond.”
The moves “follow on from the previous success of pop-ups we’ve hosted in the space since 2021. Upper East Side is new for us, and we feel very lucky to have stores in both uptown and downtown NYC.”
