Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood has become the first player in the club’s history to be named Premier League player of the month.
The New Zealand captain won the award after scoring four times in three appearances during October.
Wood’s goals helped Forest to remain unbeaten throughout the month, as Nuno Espirito Santo won the manager of the month prize.
Forest started the month with a 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, when they were reduced to 10 men.
Wood – the first player from New Zealand to be the Premier League’s player of the month – scored a fortnight later when Forest beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at home, then struck twice in a 3-1 win at Leicester City.
The Kiwi joined Forest from Newcastle United in 2023, initially on loan.
