Just about every college football player dreams of hearing their name called at the NFL Draft. Few get to experience it. For many players, though, the dream doesn’t end on draft day. NFL teams are quick to sign their crop of undrafted free agents, and history proves those players can make an impact at the highest level.
In the last five years alone, notable undrafted players include Bryce Huff, Jakobi Meyers, T.J. Edwards, Jake Browning, Ivan Pace Jr., Reed Blankenship, and Carl Granderson. Even more have served as key depth pieces around the NFL.
If you go back further, Kurt Warner, Wes Welker, Warren Moon, James Harrison, Antonio Gates, and Tony Romo stand out among the best undrafted players in NFL history.
Finding gems in the later rounds of the NFL Draft is difficult. Finding gems on the undrafted free agent market is even harder, particularly with 31 teams sharing a near-even playing field and hundreds of players looking for an ideal landing spot.
