DETROIT, Mich. (WYMT) – Although it appears that no Wildcats will be taken in the first round of this year’s draft, CBS reports that as many as four former Kentucky players could get drafted this weekend.
In the second round, Kentucky CB Andru Phillips is projected as the 59th pick for the Houston Texans.
Phillips racked up 48 total tackles in 2023. He had a season-high eight against Tennessee.
In the third round, Kentucky LB Trevin Wallace is projected as the 87th pick to the Dallas Cowboys.
Wallace collected 80 total tackles in 2023. He also grabbed one interception against Florida.
In the fourth round, Kentucky RB Ray Davis is projected as the 121st pick to the Denver Broncos.
Davis was a centerpiece to last year’s offense. The Vanderbilt transfer ran for 1,129 yards and 14 touchdowns, earning multiple awards throughout the season. Davis was also named a second-team All-American selection.
Finally, in the sixth round, Kentucky QB Devin Leary is projected as the 220th pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The N.C. State transfer led the Wildcats under center in 2023. Leary threw for 2,746 yards and 25 touchdowns for UK.
This year, the NFL draft takes place in Detroit and will start with the first round tonight at 8:00 p.m. (EST).
The draft runs until Saturday, April 27.
