Newcastle Airport has added another top industry award to its trophy cabinet after being crowned ‘Star UK Airport’ at the Travel Bulletin Star Awards, for the third consecutive year.
The prestigious awards, hosted by one of the UK’s leading travel trade news publications, celebrate excellence in the travel industry and are voted for by travel professionals.
Newcastle Airport took home the accolade for the exceptional support it provides to local travel agents and industry-leading initiatives which drive awareness and sales for its airline and trade partners. Newcastle was crowned the winner after being shortlisted alongside London Gatwick, London City, London Stansted, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool and Manchester airports.
This highly regarded award comes after Newcastle Airport was crowned ‘Overall Winner’, and retained the ‘Best Airport’ award in the 0-5 million passenger category for a second consecutive year, at the Routes World Awards 2024 in Bahrain.
In September, Newcastle Airport was also crowned ‘UK and Ireland Airport of the Year’ at the Travel Industry Awards 2024 by TTG.
Richard Knight, Chief Operating Officer at Newcastle Airport, said: “We are incredibly proud to be named ‘Star UK Airport’ at the Travel Bulletin Star Awards for the third consecutive year.
“This award not only recognises the hard work and dedication of everyone at the Airport, but also reflects the strong, trusted relationships we have built with travel agents and the wider travel industry.
“These partnerships play an important role in helping us deliver vital connectivity for the North East England region.”
Laura Hartshorne, Aviation Sales Manager at Newcastle Airport, said: “We work hard to support our travel partners so it’s rewarding to see our efforts have been recognised with this award.
“We would like to thank everyone who voted for us and we look forward to continuing to work together and build on this success in the future.”
