The data, which was collected during Quarter Two this year, or between April and June, shows that teaching assistants were the most advertised roles in Oldham during this period.
According to the ONS, adverts for teaching assistants made up 3.8 per cent of all live adverts in Oldham, which was the highest percentage of any single occupation.
The second most commonly advertised jobs in Oldham were for care workers and home carers with 2.6 per cent, while secondary education teaching professionals was third with 2.4 per cent.

Secondary education teaching professionals was also the occupation which saw the highest rise in demand compared to the same period last year.
Between April and June 2023, secondary education teaching professionals made up 1.4 per cent of all live adverts, meaning the amount of adverts for the roles increased by one per cent.
The roles to see the highest increase in demand after secondary education teaching professionals were other vocational and industrial trainers and teaching assistants, which both increased by 0.7 per cent from Quarter Two last year.
In Oldham, there were 1.9 adverts per 100 people in August, up from 1.2 in 2019, before the pandemic.

This contrasts the national data, with the ONS saying the level of UK job adverts has been gradually declining since late 2021, and is now similar to pre-pandemic levels at 3.4 adverts per 100 working-age people in August.
Max Mosley, senior economist at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, said: “While we would normally be worried about declining job adverts, this more reflects a stabilising labour market after the pandemic than anything to be too concerned about.”
He added an increase in the number of people taking early retirement, more workers resigning to upskill, high sickness absence rates, and international workers leaving the UK led to the surge in vacancies in 2021.
