Marching into Gallagher Shopping Park earlier this week, the 7 ft 1 basketball player turned sports analyst spent 19 years on the court and was in the store looking for some new furniture before presumably jetting back off across the pond.
Arguably one of the NBA’s greatest players, he spent time checking the store’s stock and meeting staff – the visit is part of a ‘confidential campaign ‘ which is set to start in February 2025.
DFS Wednesbury store manager, Matthew Fereday said: “It was a privilege to welcome Shaquille O’Neal to our store and assist him in ‘finding his thing.’
“With our wide range of offerings at DFS, we’re confident he found something just right”.
A spokesperson for DFS, said: “There has been a surprising shopper spotted at DFS Wednesbury.
“Former NBA Basketball player Shaquille O’Neal has been seen on the lookout for the perfect sofa. The professional athlete, who stands at an impressive 7 ft 1 in, is regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, having been four-time NBA champion over his 19-year NBA career. He is currently a sports analyst on TV programme, Inside the NBA.”
