Much of the BBN is focused on the impending commitment of 5-star guard Jasper Johnson. While things seem to be trending in the right direction for the Kentucky Wildcats to land his pledge, Mark Pope and his staff were planning to host another top-15 player in the class of 2025 this week.
Unfortunately, that visit has been postponed.
According to a report by Jacob Polacheck of KSR, 5-star forward Nate Ament has postponed his visit to Lexington. He was scheduled to start on Wednesday, August 28th.
Ament, a 6-foot-9 and 185-pound forward out of Manassas (VA), has a long offer list as schools try to land the talented stretch 4. Alongside Kentucky, he holds offers from Duke, Kansas, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and plenty of others.
Coach Pope and his staff have started to hone in on their top recruits in the class of 2025, and it appears Ament is high on that list. Alongside Johnson, Malachi Moreno, Braylon Mullins, Tounde Yessoufou, and Chris Cenac, the UK staff is looking to stack together several top recruits to show that the Kentucky Basketball brand speaks for itself.
At the moment, it seems things could be trending that they will ultimately reach that goal.
The news out of this report is the word “postponed.” If the Cats can still get Ament on campus, you have to think they stand a chance to land a commitment. It should be interesting to wait and see what happens.
