A hardworking mum who juggled two jobs while raising her two sons has won a staggering £200,000 from a £1 bet and is now planning to leave the UK to live her dream life in Thailand.
Araya Curry, who worked tirelessly as a hospice cleaner by day and a restaurant waitress by night, is set to bid farewell to her minimum wage lifestyle. After striking it rich on Betfred’s own numbers game, the Nifty Fifty, she plans to return to her native Thailand where her winnings will allow her and her family to live luxuriously.
The windfall has completely changed the lives of Araya and her husband Andy. The 40 year old mum, residing in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, expressed: “I have been working 14-hour days for a long time so this fantastic win has totally transformed the lives not just for me and Andy but our children too. “.
Thanks to their newfound wealth, the couple’s plans to purchase land in Thailand have been fast-tracked, with construction on their six-bedroom home already underway, according to the Daily Star.
Andy, 45, a former fireman who met Araya while on holiday two decades ago, was astounded, saying: “I still can’t believe you can win £200,000 from a £1 bet.”
Betfred chief Fred Done has been invited to visit the Curry family to stay in their dream Thailand home when it’s finished as a thank you.
He said: “There has never been a more deserving winner in our 57-year history than Araya who along with her husband works so hard and deserve all the luck in the world.”
