Michael Jordan has been revealed as the mystery buyer of a custom-made one-off Italian sports car valued at over $2million.
The basketball great, who has a net worth of $3.5bn, is the owner of the only Pininfarina Battista Targamerica model in the world after having it designed by the automobile company.
When it was unveiled in mid-August at Monterey Car Week, the Italian brand said it had been purchased by a ‘renowned car collector and existing Battista owner.’
Pininfarina has now revealed Jordan as the buyer of the one-of-a-kind Battista Targamerica, which boasts an aluminum cigar holder and humidor between the front seats.
The 61-year-old is known for his love of cigars and was spotted enjoying many during his summer vacation across Europe with wife Yvette Prieto.

His new open-roof electric hypercar, which is believed to be worth upwards of $2m, was delivered in early October, according to Auto Evolution.
The design includes a silver-and-blue exterior with a tan interior, while the engine claims 1,900 horsepower.
Jordan’s love of elite sports cars is well documented, with the Chicago Bulls legend forking out $3.5m on an extremely-rare 30 Venom F5 Roadster back in May 2023.
He also made a habit of pulling up to Bulls game in expensive vehicles throughout his iconic career in Chicago.
Jordan recently sparked fears over his health after a photo of him and wife Prieto at a Champions League soccer game in Monaco went viral.
As he watched on from the stands, the six-time NBA champion’s eyes looked worryingly yellow in the picture, with a number of users speculating that he could be suffering from jaundice wrought by alcohol abuse or elevated melanin pigment on the surface of the eye.

However, despite doctors revealing those theories are not unfounded, an insider confirmed last month that MJ is not battling an illness or in poor health despite concern over his yellow eyes.
The source told DailyMail.com: ‘Mike is OK. He goes to the doctor, he is just getting older and the recent pics are in no way or should be a reason for concern.
‘There is nothing wrong with him. Like everyone, we should get a little more exercise and Mike enjoys the life he has made for himself, but there isn’t any hidden illness that he is dealing with.’
