International M&A advisory Marktlink has expanded its UK Midlands presence by opening a second office in the region. The new site in Nottingham will enable Marktlink to service business owners across both the East and West Midlands, with experienced specialised advisers.
Founded in the Netherlands in 1996, Marktlink is a specialist M&A consulting firm, working with small and mid-tier clients around the world. The advisory firm currently counts on an international team of over 180 M&A specialists, and facilitates companies with transactions valued between €5 million and €250 million.
As the M&A market slowly recovers from a difficult two years, Marktlink has been positioning itself to make the most of the potential rebound, having rolled out a new office in Birmingham at the close of 2023 – its second UK office. Now, Marktlink has followed that up with the launch of a locale in Nottingham’s Pegasus Business Park.
Commenting on the new appointments, Joe Moran, who heads up Marktlink’s UK Midlands operations as Managing Partner, said, “Expanding our presence in the Midlands, through growing our team and opening a new office in Nottingham, has led to an exciting first six months since Marktlink planted roots in the region. We continue to show significant investment in the UK and our Midlands presence allows us to provide local, national and international entrepreneurs and investors access to our valued services. Our investment comes at a key time as we see much improved M&A market confidence during 2024.”
The Nottingham office is Marktlink’s seventeenth, and the third in the UK since it first arrived in Manchester two years ago. The latest expansion will be bolstered by the appointment of M&A Director Alex Thompson, and M&A Consultant Hamish Moore.
Thompson joins with over 12 years of experience working with owner-managed and private equity-backed businesses. Awarded East Midlands Emerging Dealmaker of the Year in 2021, he has spent the last seven years originating and advising clients on all aspects of M&A and value creation. Meanwhile, with seven years of experience, including time at BDO and EY, Moore joins Marktlink from Credit Suisse where he was an equity research associate – and will support business owners looking to secure the best future for their business.
Moran added, “Alex and Hamish bring a host of relevant financial and professional services experience, as well as regional knowledge, to their new roles and we’re confident that they’ll be an asset as we continue to expand our scope to provide business owners in the UK with the M&A expertise they deserve.”
