The Kentucky Wildcats were able to squeak by Colgate without the services of Lamont Butler and Kerr Kriisa, who both missed the game due to lower-leg injuries.
Butler is battling an ankle injury that, while isn’t thought to be serious, has kept him out two games now.
Kriisa, on the other hand, is set to miss around a month after action after suffering a fracture in his foot during the overtime win over Gonzaga. The early indication was he’d miss 3-6 weeks.
Following Kentucky’s win over Colgate, head coach Mark Pope gave a brief update on his senior point guard, suggesting it’s looking like a six-week absence.
Pope on Kerr Kriisa: “Kerr has already had the surgery. Vegas would say probably around a 6-week period but in 10 days we’ll see how it goes.”

If that timeframe holds true, Kriisa would return toward the end of January when the SEC season is in full swing. Kentucky’s late slate of January games includes Alabama (1/18), at Vanderbilt (1/25), and at Tennessee (1/28).
Oh, and there’s that little February 1st game vs. Arkansas and John Calipari. Would sure be nice to have him back for that one.
