Alvin Brooks set the BBN into flight tracker mode Friday morning as he posted to his Instagram story a photo of a private jet saying, “Fog delay, but we’re on our way to see some future Cats.”
Shortly after, fans figured out that the flight was heading to Colorado Springs with another stop in Provo (UT).
Then the question became; who were they going to see in Colorado?
It has now been reported that Brooks, joined by Mark Pope, was heading to check out the USA U18 training camp that features several of the top prospects for the Kentucky Wildcats in the 2025 class.
Featuring Jasper Johnson, Caleb Wilson, Meleek Thomas, Malachi Moreno, and several other UK targets, Mark Pope and his new associate head coach are taking advantage of any time they are available to watch these players as they look to fill up their big board for their first full recruiting class as a staff.
What makes it even more unique is the opportunity to attend this camp during a dead period. Luckily, thanks to an NCAA by-law that allows coaches to attend due to it being a national team event coached by a Division 1 coach. Since the training camp is coached and run by Arizona Head Coach Tommy Lloyd, it became a free game for the Kentucky staff to come in and evaluate.
Now with the Colorado part of the trip figured out, who could they be going to see in Provo? It’s possible Pope was going back to his old home. The dead period prevents him from seeing Jaxson Robinson, which some speculated could be who Pope made the trip for.
Going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.
