Italian fine jewellery brand Marco Bicego is aiming to strengthen its market position in the UK through an alliance with Watches of Switzerland Group, the UK’s largest retailer of luxury and high-end watches.
Marco Bicego will be available in 10 Mappin & Webb and Goldsmiths stores, with another four to follow later, in cities like Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield and Glasgow, as well as online.
“The chance to expand in the United Kingdom with a prestigious, well-established player like Watches of Switzerland Group is an exciting new step for our brand. Interest and enthusiasm for our brand are constantly growing, and boosting our global presence through this new partnership has been a natural evolution in our growth path,” said Marco Bicego, founder and creative director of the eponymous brand. “Watches of Switzerland Group appreciates the unique and distinctive design that characterises our jewellery, and like us it is committed to building an exclusive experience for our customers. We are optimistic about the future success we will achieve together through this partnership,” he added.
Marco Bicego jewellery is distributed via some 900 multibrand retailers in more than 50 countries. It also operates 12 monobrand stores, in Venice, Verona, Paris, Budapest, Athens, Mykonos, Crete, Baden-Baden, New York, Tokyo, Shanghai and Beijing.
Marco Bicego generates 85% of its revenue outside Italy, and its main markets are the USA, Italy and China. In fiscal 2023, the brand recorded a revenue of approximately €60 million, posting mid-single digit growth, and expects “to close [2024] with a positive growth rate over 2023.”
