The airport is encouraging passengers to take action
Manchester Airport has issued a new warning for passengers travelling in the upcoming weeks due to several airlines shifting from Terminals 1 and 3 to the revamped Terminal 2. The airport is encouraging travellers to adjust their lounge and parking bookings to avoid any inconvenience during their holiday.
So far, 11 airlines have been announced to be moving, starting from October 27 until November 13. The changes come as the airport undergoes a £1.3billion transformation resulting in a complete overhaul of Terminal 2, reports the MEN.
As per the plans, Terminal 1 will close while the number of airlines operating from Terminal 3 will increase. The goal is to make the new-look Terminal 2 “the heartbeat of the airport”.

The first half of the new Terminal 2 opened in 2021, with the second half on track to open next year. The transformation is expected to be completed by 2025, and several airlines have already started moving over.

Last month, the airport announced that a total of 22 new retail, bar and restaurant units will open in Terminal 2 next summer when the transformation is complete, including the airport’s first Wetherspoons, a Greggs and a Fever-Tree cocktail and champagne bar.
The new terminal will house luxury retailers such as Pandora and Chanel, with the latter launching its first standalone airport makeup and skincare boutique. They’ll be joined by high street giants like LEGO, WH Smith and Boots.
Additionally, there will be a massive 472-seater food hall, the Great Northern Market, offering a street-style dining experience with seven international street food kitchens, including a unit from Manchester’s viral dessert brand, Gooey.
