Pizza is one of the most popular takeaway choices in Britain, and there’s nothing better than relaxing after a hard day at work with your favourite toppings.
But one man wanted to go the extra mile – literally – rather than spend a small fortune on Domino’s. Milan is known as one of Italy’s most fashionable cities, and it also happens to have “the best” pizza.
So Liam Bond flew over there for less than the price of a Domino’s pizza – and he enjoyed something arguably much more delicious. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) he wrote: “Fancied a pizza so instead of spending £40 on Domino’s I paid £19 for return flights to Milan on Cheap Flights Club and £8 for the best pizza I’ve ever had.”
He also posted a picture of the pizza, and it looked delicious. In the comments, he also shared: “For everyone asking where I got £19 flights, you can get loads of them on Cheap Flights Club. Did Amsterdam for £25 as well. “
Someone wrote: “What site are you using to go to Milan and back for 19 quid haha that’s banging it cost me 22 quid in a cab just to take my kid to school and that’s not a return haha”. Some people were not impressed with the man’s technique, saying his “carbon footprint” would be bad.
Another said: “Ah nice one. I guess you teleported to the airport in the UK, then teleported from the airport in Milan to the pizzeria. Then did it all again to get back home Side note, do you not value your time at all, that you’d (allegedly) go through all this just for lunch?”
He fumed back to them: “I value my time, that’s why I went to Milan. I also had about 15 pints (granted cost more than a Domino’s) and had the best day out on record.”
Some accused the man of not “taking responsibility”, saying that his carbon footprint was an issue, saying that there was currently a heatwave in Antarctica. Liam responded: “I just went to Milan for a bit of food and drink mate, on a flight that was very much already going there, not sure you can blame me for a heat wave in f**king Antarctica lmao.”
Someone else replied: “That must be Spontini, isn’t it? I was there for Milan-Chelsea game in CL and everyone was raving about that pizza. When I tried it, I got why.” Liam said it was, and it was better than in the pictures.
