A man has appeared in court accused of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after two pedestrians were injured in a hit-and-run crash just after midnight on New Year’s Day.
Two men, aged 59 and 23, were struck at the junction of Regent’s Park Road and Primrose Hill Road where many people had been watching London’s annual fireworks display.
The older man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the younger victim suffered minor injuries.
Daniel Sterling, 40, of Hampstead, remains in custody after appearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court earlier. He is also charged with dangerous driving, failing to provide a drug test and possession of a knife in a public place.
