ALL flights from a major UK airport have been suspended as the Met Office issues another three weather warnings for snow and ice.
Passengers set to jet off from Bristol Airport this morning have been warned every flight is grounded until 7.30am.
In a post online the airport said: “Passenger announcement, due to the ongoing weather conditions all flights have been currently suspended until 07:30, further announcements will be made once information is available.”
Travellers are being urged to check their flights before travelling to the airport in a bid to avoid chaos for thousands.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across the Bristol area on Monday – stretching as far as Blackpool.
The warning, which is in place until 10am on Tuesday, warned of travel disruption as sleet and snow hit.
A further two alerts have been issued for Northern Ireland and the majority of Scotland.
It comes as Manchester airport reopens its two runways after closing them for the third consecutive day because of snow.
The airport announced at 2am the runways were closed “due to heavy snow”, and shortly after 5am said they had reopened.
It said in a statement: “Our runways are now open, but as a result of the earlier closure, some departures and arrivals may still experience delays.
“Please check with your airline for the latest updates and allow extra time for your journey.”
At least 23 flights due to arrive between 4.40pm on Monday and 1am on Tuesday were diverted to other airports, affecting around 4,000 passengers.
