The city, which is commonly known as ‘The Big Apple’ or ‘The City That Never Sleeps’, is the most populous in the U.S., with approximately 8.5 million people living there. It is made up of five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island.
