Stone Island unveils the new chapter in its “Community as a form of research” campaign, starring Liam Gallagher.
Alongside the leader of Oasis (whose reformation caused a stir last week) are actor and curator Russell Tovey, musician and skateboarder Sage Elsesser and DJ Peggy Gou, the first woman to take part in a campaign by the Italian luxury ready-to-wear brand.
The campaign to launch the autumn-winter 2024/25 collection follows on from the project begun last January, celebrating the Stone Island community, which is able to bring together faces from the worlds of music, sport and art.
The 12 protagonists of the campaign also include Carlo Rivetti, who will be photographed wearing a seasonal interpretation of the President’s iconic jumper, first presented in the autumn-winter 98-99 collection.
Rounding out the series of portraits are designer Philippe Starck, artist Alexandre Diop, parkour athlete Davide Garzetti, photographer Liam MacRae, music producer Axl Beats and graphic designer Yoshirotten.
The campaign was photographed by David Sims, with creative direction by Ferdinando Verderi and styling by Max Pearmain. The narrative is enriched by a series of questions put to the 12 protagonists and devised by critic Hans Ulrich Obrist, artistic director of London’s Serpentine Gallery.
