When Mark Pope took over the Kentucky program just around two months ago, he made a statement that resonated through Rupp Arena in his introductory press conference.
“We are here to win banners.”
With his new squad now moving on to campus, all the new Cats have made it known they understand the importance of the winning culture the program has established in its decorated history. The latest signee to arrive on campus is San Diego State Transfer guard Lamont Butler.
In a tweet put out by the official UK men’s basketball Twitter account, the transfer guard has this to say;
“What’s up, BBN? I just landed in Lexington, coming all the way from San Diego. I’m really excited to be here. I already feel the love already, and I’m here because I understand the assignment. We’re gonna chase No. 9, and we’re going to win championships and hang banners in Rupp Arena.”
The new-look Kentucky Wildcats understand the task of wearing the blue and white jersey. The goal here is to win championships. These players and coaches understand that assignment.
