Saturday’s win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs was a thrilling night for the Kentucky Wildcats, but sadly, it came at a cost.
Late in the second half, senior point guard Kerr Kriisa went down with a foot injury that led to him missing the rest of the game. After the game, he was seen in the locker room in what looked like excruciating pain from the injury.
Now, UK has announced that Kriisa is out indefinitely due to a foot injury that will require surgery. The school did say that it’s not expected to be a season-ending injury, but it’s unclear when he could potentially return.
Kriisa has played in all nine games for the Wildcats this season, averaging 4.4 points and 3.8 assists per game. He made his first start of the season in Saturday’s historic come-from-behind win over the Zags, in which he scored a season-high eight points, eclipsing 1,000 for his career.
