Amid a challenging period for the group — following a sharp contraction in revenue and profitability in 2024 — Kering is making key leadership adjustments to reinforce its governance and strategic direction.
Melanie Flouquet, who has led Kering’s strategy division since 2021, will be promoted to secretary general of the group, a newly created position, effective March 1. She joined Kering, led by CEO François-Henri Pinault, after two decades at JP Morgan, where she specialised in the luxury sector. In her new role, she will report to Jean-Marc Duplaix, Kering’s deputy chief executive officer and chief operating officer.
According to the group, this position has been established to strengthen global governance and risk management, enhance regional integration, and foster cross-functional collaboration. Already one of six women on Kering’s 12-member executive committee, she remains a key figure within the senior leadership team, working alongside the CEO.
Strategy and development will now fall under Joël Hazan, who also assumes his role on March 1. With 20 years of experience in fashion and luxury consulting at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Hazan will now report to Francesca Bellettini, Kering’s deputy CEO overseeing brand development. His appointment is designed to bolster operational support for Kering’s fashion houses, enhance efficiency, and drive commercial growth across the group.
Kering recently reported a revenue decline for fiscal 2024, with annual sales falling below €17.2 billion.
