LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – UK men’s basketball announced the signing of three players on Thursday.
Jasper Johnson, Malachi Moreno and Acaden Lewis signed letters of intent with the Wildcats.
Johnson, who played at Woodford Co., is currently playing with Overtime Elite. The 6-foot-4 guard is the son of former UK football great Dennis Johnson and is considered a 5-star prospect. Johnson is averaging 20.7 points, 6.3 assists and 7 rebounds per game in the early stages of the OTE 2024-25 season.
Moreno enters his senior season at Great Crossing High School in Georgetown. The 6-foot-11 center is rated one of the Top 3 centers in the Class of 2025. He helped lead the Warhawks to the Sweet 16, averaging 16 points, 15 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game.
Lewis is the reigning Gatorade Player of the Year in the District of Columbia. Lewis averaged 14.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game last season helping lead Sidwell Friends School to a Mid-Atlantic Conference title and the DCSAA Class AA tournament championship. Lewis chose UK over Duke and UConn.
