Minster (Sheppey) Cricket Club consolidated their position at the top of the Premier Division of the Kent Cricket League, with a three wicket home victory over Lordswood, which gives them a 23 point lead, over second placed St Lawrence and Highland Court, who were 79 run winners at Blackheath.

Lordswood were all out for 141, in 33.2 overs, the Island side getting their victory, 142 for 7, in 26.2 overs, Ed Taylor 45, top scored for the visitors, James Speer 3 for 33, former Essex spinner Aron Nijjar 3 for 15. Speer was 45 not out, and Kai Appleby hit the same score, as Minster got their win, Thando Ntini 4 for 36.

Two players, with Kent Cricket connections, were the stars of the St Lawrence innings, of 306 for 8, former Kent all-rounder, Darren Stevens, smashing a brilliant century, at the Rectory Field, 121 off 91 deliveries, with four sixes, and 13 boundaries, and Academy scholar and Second Eleven player, Olly Curtiss, chipping in with a six, and nine fours, in an innings of 65. Kent pace bowler, Arafat Bhuiyan, on the opposite side, taking 5 for 55. Heath were never able to match their visitors onslaught, and were dismissed for 227, Riley Ayre 79, Jamie Hemphrey 3 for 26, Joe Payne 4 for 44.

A big win for Bexley, at home to Tunbridge Wells, by 135 runs, the visitors all out for 122, replying to Bexley’s 257 for 6, with the home skipper, Matthew Stiddard scoring 93, former Kent Second Eleven wicket keeper, Ben Aldred 50, Sahil Shah 3 for 44. Freddie Foster 3 for 14, for the home side, as the visitors were bowled out for their low score.

A six wicket home win for Hayes, against Bickley Park, in a low scoring match, the visitors all out for just 129, Will MacVicar 3 for 32, Alfie Peck 3 for 19. MacVicar then scored 39, as Hayes eased to victory, 132 for 4 in 30.2 overs.

An excellent home victory for Canterbury, at Polo Farm, beating Sandwich by five wickets, with eight deliveries of their innings remaining, a winning 213 for 5, after the visitors 209 for 8, from their 50 overs, Ben Chapman 50, Rory Smith 51. Anthony Mosca guided the home side to victory, with a knock of 77, Ben Marsh 56.

The Mote lead the Championship Division,  by a narrow four points, from Whitstable, after a big 77 run win, at home to Broadstairs. Matt White struck seven boundaries, in an innings of 90, for the Maidstone based home side, in their 245 for 4, Dylan De Villiers 82. The visitors all out 168, Mark Luksich 4 for 24.

A close encounter between Beckenham and Whitstable, with the visitors winning, by just three runs, the home side just falling short, 204 for 6, replying to 207 for 9 for the seasiders, Harry Fulton 84, Henry Goss 68, Malusi Siboto 5 for 40,  66 from Alex Senn, and Gethin Roberts, with 49, not  quite enough. Liam Tegg 4 for 27.

Bromley, beat Leeds and Broomfield, by six wickets, reaching their winning 173 for 4, after the visitors were all out for 171. Aditya Kumar 69 for the home side, Henry Railz 47. Kumar then took 3 for 27 in the Leeds innings, Ryan Tullia 41.

Sevenoaks Vine were five wicket victors, away at Holmesdale, who were all out for 250, the visitors winning in 47.4 overs, 253 for 5, Leo Carter 45, Kent Second Eleven player, Will Harby 44 for the home side, Chris Vernon 3 for 46. In The Vine winning innings, Evert Bekker 75, Vernon 66, Harby 2 for 19, Ben Fawcitt 2 for 49.

An impressive 84 run victory, for Dartford, away at Linden Park, who were dismissed for 178 in reply to the visitors 262, Md Nipo 67, Kent Academy student Ekansh Singh 42, Faisal Zaman 4 for 33. In Park’s innings Sadiq Hassan 56, Alex Cullingham 3 for 32.
