Jil Sander continues to expand its high-end lifestyle offerings. In addition to introducing its first fine jewellery collection, the German fashion house, renowned for its minimalist aesthetic, is set to launch a first prestige fragrance in January 2025, in collaboration with Coty. This follows the renewal of a 10-year licensing agreement in 2023. As the first OTB luxury brand to enter the fine jewellery market, Jil Sander is positioning itself as an innovation leader within the group.
“This strategic extension further reinforces Jil Sander’s elevated modern offering as the pinnacle of luxury within OTB’s portfolio, and follows on the heels of the opening of the brand’s largest flagship worldwide in Ginza, Tokyo, where the fine jewellery collection exclusively debuts before rolling out across select stores globally,” the brand stated in a press release.
The collection is seen as a milestone in boosting Jil Sander’s appeal, offering “new styling opportunities” to its clientele while increasing its visibility. The range includes bracelets, necklaces, pendants, rings, and earrings crafted in 18-karat gold and lab-grown diamonds, blending cutting-edge jewellery technologies with traditional Italian craftsmanship.
Drawing inspiration from nature—plants, water, and the cosmos—the pieces reflect an organic aesthetic. Creative directors Lucie and Luke Meier have embraced irregular, deliberately imperfect forms. For instance, the “Branch” series includes rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings in white gold with rhodium plating, featuring fractal designs and randomly aligned diamonds.
Jil Sander is navigating leadership changes following the departure of CEO Luca Lo Curzio, who will assume the role of CEO at K-Way in early 2025. Despite this transition, the brand remains focused on its growth strategy. Beyond its flagship store in Tokyo, Jil Sander has seen a 17.3% sales increase in 2023 and has expanded its footprint with openings on London’s Bond Street earlier this year, and its first boutique in Florence, located on the prestigious Via de’ Tornabuoni.
