Well well.
As it turns out, new Kentucky Basketball head coach Mark Pope will meet with Jayden Quaintance on Tuesday, according to Jamie Shaw.
So maybe Kentucky isn’t done just yet when it comes to the top-10 prospect.
We shall see. I’d still bet against it happening, but it’s good to see Coach Pope isn’t throwing in the towel just yet.
With Jayden Quaintance back on the market, there’s a good chance that the Kentucky Wildcats will face him next season…unless Penny Hardaway has his way.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello, Quaintance is scheduled to visit with Hardaway and the Memphis Tigers this weekend. It comes following a visit with the Louisville Cardinals last week.
And while it’s not set in stone yet, Quaintance is working on a trip to see John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The 6-foot-9, 230-pound Quaintance is ranked seventh overall in the 2024 class by On3. You could argue that the 16-year-old center is the most important prospect in the class due to the fact he must spend two years in college before being eligible for the 2026 NBA Draft. Imagine what a player like Quaintance would look like in Year 2.
It doesn’t appear Kentucky is a serious suitor for Quaintance anymore, especially after Mark Pope landed Amari Williams and is making a strong push for Great Osobor in the frontcourt.
While it’s hard to root for Penny, I’d venture to say a lot of Kentucky fans would rather see Quaintance in the AAC than at Louisville or Arkansas.
