It feels like it’s been an eternity since we last saw Lamont Butler (shoulder) and Jaxson Robinson (wrist) healthy and in action for the Kentucky Wildcats.
Will we get to see that again before it’s too late?
Leading up to Kentucky’s loss at Alabama, head coach Mark Pope made it sound like Robinson and Butler were closing in on a return.
Then, during his radio call-in show, Pope gave another update on the status of his two star guards, saying they both went through a modified practice on Monday. Pope added that the team will know a lot more about their progress on Tuesday once their bodies have reacted to practicing following a long layoff with their respective recoveries.
Pope also said he’s not sure either player will be able to get to 100% before the season ends, but he’s hopeful of seeing them back in action soon.
“Lamont and Jaxson were both in practice today…a modified practice. We will know so much more in the morning with both of them,” said Pope.
That’s massive news, as it suggests both players could return this week for one or both of Kentucky’s games vs. the Oklahoma Sooners and/or Auburn Tigers.
But if nothing else, there seems to be a great chance of both being back by next week’s Senior Night game vs. the LSU Tigers.
