An avid traveller, who has explored 106 out of the 195 countries in the world, has revealed his number one favourite European destination.
Shueyb Gandapur, 44, now based in Dubai, lived in the UK for 10 years after travelling from Pakistan to firstly live in Aberdeen, Scotland for two years, and then London.
During his time living in the UK, while working in finance, Shueyb was able to apply get citizenship and receive a British passport, which he said opened up “way more doors” and gave him the ability to travel to more countries than his Pakistani passport.
Although he has enjoyed every country he’s visited and has a soft spot for the whole of the continent, Shueyb revealed the number one European destination he would recommend anyone to visit.
He told Express.co.uk: “Croatia is very, very beautiful with lots of beautiful beaches and towns.
“I really love Croatia. It is my favourite European country. I kept finding town after town or city after city and thinking ‘wow this is even better or equal to the previous one’ – the surprises kept continuing.”
Croatia has a long coastline on the Adriatic Sea, with wooded islands, waterfalls, and national parks.
It is also famed for its history with some of it’s ancient ruins, castles, and buildings classed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Zagreb is the capital and the largest city of Croatia, located in the northwest of the country, along the Sava river, at the slopes of the Medvednica mountain.
Shueyb explained that he also thinks the UK is “one of the prettiest countries in the world”.
He said: “When I was in England, I kept thinking about wanting to travel and see other countries and cultures, but now I’m in Dubai, I find myself thinking about England a lot.”
The world traveller explained that while he enjoys his new life in Dubai – since moving there just one year ago – he finds that he misses the the UK’s great outdoors.
He said the greenery in Dubai “doesn’t come close to England’s” as it is “mostly all desert” and often he misses being outside in nature.
