While it may seem like the children have just returned to school, the February half term is fast approaching.
For those planning a getaway during the break, one holiday park stands out as a favourite among both families and couples.
Located a mere 90-minute drive from Manchester, Fallbarrow Holiday Park sits on the fringes of the picturesque Lake Windermere, making it an ideal destination for those with youngsters in tow.
Promoted as ‘a perfect retreat for families and couples seeking a blend of relaxation and adventure’, the park is nestled within the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Lake District National Park, a recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
It offers direct access to the lakeside and the plethora of activities it provides.
The Parkdean Resorts park features caravans and lodges, with options for hot tubs and pet-friendly accommodations available, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Amenities include an outdoor children’s playground, a multi-use games area, and an amusement arcade to keep the little ones entertained.
The site also boasts its own bar and restaurant, The Willow, along with a cafe and shop.
Occasional live entertainment and music are hosted at the park, with an enhanced programme running during school holidays.
Fallbarrow is among the 23 Parkdean parks that received the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for 2024, boasting an impressive overall rating of 4.5/5 on the website.
One satisfied holidaymaker, who braved the elements last month and still awarded a five-star rating, enthused: “Spent a lovely week here despite the weather warnings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The park was tidy with convenient parking.”
They continued to praise the location, adding: “Great location to explore Bowness and Windermere. But also convenient for the rest of The Lake District, too.”
Echoing the positive sentiments, another visitor who enjoyed their stay last summer and also left a five-star review, remarked: “The site is very well maintained. Reception staff are very welcoming and helpful. 5 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Bowness.”
They further complimented the site’s tranquility and amenities, saying: “This site is just perfect and quiet, every cabin/lodge is less than a minute walk away from the lake. Secure dog exercise area alongside the lake. Little park for the kids next to a beautiful looking restaurant called The Willow.”
