A travel expert has revealed a three-course meal for two in a mid-range restaurant in London costs around £80; whereas in Ankara, Turkey, it is just £22.17.

Jorge Díaz Largo, CEO and Founder of Hellotickets, says, “For Brits wanting to keep their costs low, Turkey offers a relatively inexpensive holiday experience, from flights and accommodation to food and activities.”

While there is no ‘cheapest time’ to book, it is recommended you book as far in advance as possible to keep costs low. Tour operators also offer discounts for early bookings.

The average cost of a pint of beer is around £2.30, imported wine is around £5 per glass, but a bottle of local craft wine costs just £10.

One establishment in particular is ‘NRY Restaurant’ in Ankara, serving turkish dishes, pizza, street food and chinese cuisine.
