The Australian women’s team is gearing up for a thrilling ride to host their arch-rivals England for the long Ashes Series, starting this Saturday. The series comprises 3 ODI matches, 3 T20I matches, and a single one-off Test match.
This multi-format structure was introduced before the 2013 series, and since then it has been used for seven editions of Women’s Ashes. Points are awarded for each game; the team with the highest points at the end of the series is crowned as the Ashes winner.
The Australian team will enter this series on the back of brilliant form. Having defeated Indian Women and New Zealand Women in their recent ODI series. On the other hand, Heather Knight’s England will enter after a clinical victory over the South African team in a multi-format series.
Two arch-rivals are gearing up to face each other in one of the biggest series in cricket history. Australia will look to retain their urn, whereas Heather Knight will aim for their first Ashes victory since 2013-14.

Here’s how to watch Women’s matches in the U.K:
English fans can catch every match of Women’s Ashes live on TNT Sports 1. Streaming options are available on discovery+, which is currently offering a 7-day FREE trial to new subscribers.
This Test match takes place at the North Sydney Oval in Sydney, Australia and kicks off on Sunday, January 12 at 10:30 a.m. local time. Viewers in UK can enjoy the coverage from Saturday, January 11 at 11:00 p.m.
The major boost for the Australian women’s team will be the addition of their regular skipper, Alyssa Healy;Â she made her comeback during the ODI series against New Zealand after recovering from an injury and now will lead the side in the Women’s Ashes. Sophie Molineux will miss the entire Ashes series due to her knee injury.
Women in Yellow are brilliantly performing in the recent few series. They will be fielding a similar side that they opted for during the New Zealand tour. Skipper Alyssa Healy will partner up with the stylish left-hand batter Phoebe Litchfield. The middle order will be handled by the power-packed trio of Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney, and Tahlia McGrath.Â
The bowling unit will be spearheaded by one of the best unit bowlers, Megan Schutt. Alongside Schutt, Annabel Sutherland, Darcie Brown and Kim Garth are likely to partner up for this match.
Australia women predicted XI: Healy (c), Litchfield, Perry, Mooney (wk), Gardner, Sutherland, McGrath, King, Garth, Schutt, Brown.
The England women’s team has a fairly balanced side, and few of the players are in red-hot form as well. The opening pair of Maia Bouchier and Tammy Beaumont will be continuing in this series as well.Â
The middle order of the England team has been heavily dependent on their key players like Nat Sciver Brunt, their skipper Heather Knight, and Danielle Nicole Wyatt. This trio has been a pillar of strength for the batting unit for this team; they will play a major role in this Ashes as well.Â
Alice Capsey is likely to retain her place for this match even after her dull performance in recent times. The lead pacer Kate Cross is set to feature in the ODI series after recovering from a back spasm.
England women predicted XI:Â Â Bouchier, Beaumont, Sciver-Brunt, Knight (c), Wyatt, Jones (wk), Capsey, Dean, Ecclestone, Cross, Bell.’
