Top tennis players from around the world will compete int he final grand slam of year, the 2024 US Open, which will be held at Flushing Meadows, New York from August 26 to September 8.
While home favourite Coco Gauff is the defending women’s champion, Novak Djokovic is the men’s title holder.
The 37-year-old Djokovic, who hasn’t won a major since his 2023 US Open triumph, is chasing history in New York. He is bidding for his 25th major that will make him the most successful grand slam singles player in history.
Gauff, who captured her first major at last year’s US Open, will undoubtedly be the crowd favourite. But on the court, she will face stiff competition from the likes of World No 1 Iga Swiatek, Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka and Naomi Osaka.

The 2024 US Open gets underway on Monday, August 26, and runs for just under two weeks. The event concludes with the men’s singles final from the Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sunday, September 8.

The first round of matches in both the ATP and WTA singles competitions begins on Monday, August 26, with the order of play on most days starting from 11:00 a.m. local time (ET) in the first, second, third, and fourth (last 16) rounds. This translates to 4:00 p.m. BST for the UK fans.
Both days of quarterfinals will begin at 5:00 p.m. BST, while the WTA and ATP semifinals over the following two evenings begin at 12:00 a.m. BST and 8:00 p.m. BST respectively.
The WTA women’s singles final takes place at 9:00 p.m. BST, on Saturday, September 7 from the Arthur Ashe Stadium, while the ATP men’s decider from the same arena will close out the final Grand Slam of 2024 on Sunday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m. BST.
