Southampton and West Ham will both seek to gain traction in the Premier League when they meet on Thursday.
The Saints managed a goalless draw against Fulham in their first match following Russell Martin’s departure, ending a four-game losing streak in the league.
Meanwhile, West Ham extended their unbeaten run to three matches with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Brighton in their most recent outing.

This Premier League clash takes place at St. Mary’s Stadium in Southampton, England and kicks off on Thursday, December 26 at 3:00 p.m. local time.
This will be Southampton’s first match under new manager Ivan Juric. He is likely to use a formation with a three-man defense, one the Saints are already familiar with.
The hosts will welcome back Jack Stephens who has served a four-game ban. However, they will be without Gavin Bazunu, Ross Stewart and Will Smallbone who are sidelined with injuries.
Southampton predicted lineup (3-4-1-2, right to left): Ramsdale (GK) — Wood, Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek — Sugawara, Ugochukwu, Downes, Walker-Peters — Fernandes — Armstrong, Onuachu.
Injured: Bazunu, Stewart, Smallbone
Suspended: None
Ineligible: Cornet (Parent club)
Lucas Paqueta will miss this match for West Ham after accumulating five yellow cards so far this season. He is likely to be replaced by Carlos Soler who is himself returning from a suspension.
Michael Antonio is sidelined as he continues to recover from the horrible car accident he suffered recently. Additionally, Dinos Mavropanos is a major doubt after leaving the pitch at half-time in West Ham’s last game.
West Ham predicted lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Fabianski (GK) — Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson — Alvarez, Soucek — Bowen, Soler, Kudus — Fullkrug.
Injured: Antonio, Mabropanos
Suspended: Paqueta
West Ham won seven of their last 11 Premier League clashes against Southampton, with the Saints only winning one in the same period.
The Hammers have been highly inconsistent this season. However, they look to be building some form in recent weeks, and should emerge as victors against Southampton narrowly.
