Kentucky is set to play its first game since suffering its first loss of the season Tuesday on the road against Clemson (70-66). The Wildcats had passed their previous Power 4 test with flying colors in a 77-72 win over then-No. 6 Duke on Nov. 12, but struggled from the floor against a tough Clemson defense, hitting 38.1% from the floor and 25.9% from 3-point range.
Since suffering its first and only loss to unranked West Virginia (86-78), Gonzaga has rounded back into form with wins over No. 14 Indiana (89-73) and Davidson (90-65). The Bulldogs are 5.5-point favorites against Kentucky, then are set to face two time defending national champion UConn next Saturday in another early test against a traditional basketball power and the two-time defending national champions.
