Ricky Gervais has announced the first set of dates for his brand new stand-up tour, Mortality, which will head out across the UK from October 2024 to January 2025.
The superstar comedian’s show is set to be a must-see this autumn and winter, so fans won’t want to miss out on bagging tickets when they go on sale later this week.
With shows taking in England and Wales announced so far, demand is sure to be high — make sure you’re ready by checking out the announced dates and when they go on sale.
Gervais has announced he is heading back out on the road with a new stand-up tour, Mortality.
The comedian, who posed in a pair of black feathered wings for the tour’s promo photos, said: “We’re all gonna die. May as well have a laugh about it. Mortality looks at the absurdities of life. And death. Bring it on.”
In his recent hit Netflix series After Life, Gervais also took mortality as a theme. He played a local newspaper journalist grieving for his wife and learning to make new connections with his colleagues and neighbours.
As with his previous tours, animal lover Gervais will be donating a portion of the proceeds from his ticket sales to charity. Ahead of announcing the tour dates, he posted on X: “Once again I’ll be hoping to make you laugh and raise some money for animals charities.”
By the end of Gervais’ Armageddon tour in 2023, the comedian had donated £1.91m to worldwide animal charities.
So far, Gervais has only announced the first 11 venues that he will visit, but has promised more dates to come later in the year.
Mortality is set to begin in York on 22 October and will also take in Oxford, Newcastle, Manchester, St Albans, Brighton, Nottingham and Liverpool before the end of the year.
The tour resumes in January, with dates in Cardiff, Ipswich and Birmingham announced. However, if you don’t see a date near you, Gervais has promised there are more on the cards.
He shared on X: “I’ll be announcing the other UK dates, including London, the European dates and the North American dates later in the year. Don’t panic.”
