The Lillie Langtry Stakes is a Group 2 affair that will be contested on the final day of the meet at Glorious Goodwood. It will cover a total distance of a mile and six furlongs, with fillies and mares aged three and older set to compete in the race.

Free Wind will be a solid chance for the John & Thady Gosden yard this weekend. The runner returned to action with a decent second in the G2 Middleton Fillies’ Stakes at York. She was a strong performer throughout 2023, but the trip could be a major concern this weekend.

Sumo Sam could be an interesting play at a bigger price. She was disappointing at Goodwood over a mile and four in May, but her record over a mile and six deserves a lot of respect. That includes a success over course and distance in this race 12 months ago.

The action on the final day of Glorious Goodwood kicks off with the Glorious Stakes. This contest is a Group 3 contest, with a distance of a mile and three furlongs being covered by the field of horses aged four and older.

Al Aasy represents last year’s winning trainer William Haggas, and he could be good value to build on his reappearance when second in listed company at Newbury. Deserves plenty of respect after winning at Group 3 level on four previous occasions.

However, the preference is for Aimeric. James Doyle takes the ride on the runner, who has landed five victories from 15 career starts. Was a winner at Lingfield on reappearance in May, before a solid second at Goodwood in June, and a strong effort when runner-up at Newmarket over a mile and four.
