Fast fashion retail giant H&M has teamed up with Chinese designer brand Garçon by Garçon to create a co-branded collection, set to launch during Shanghai Fashion Week in October.
The collection, themed ‘Le Soleil The Sun’, will feature women’s wear, men’s wear, unisex items, and accessories, that blend ancient Greek and classical Persian influences from the 5th century B.C. with traditional Eastern aesthetics.
Founded by Chinese designer Tang Dayun, Garçon by Garçon, is well-known for its unique visual storytelling, which combines Eastern and Western inspired narratives, scroll drawings, and mythological techniques.
“We are very excited about the arrival of this co-branded collection. We continue to depict the sun in the way of Garçon by Garçon, showcasing brand’s aesthetic and emotional value to consumers while maintaining a pursuit of craftsmanship and functionality, presenting a highly wearable and story-filled series,” said Dayun.
“We hope that the arrival of this collection will bring freshness to the wardrobes of the public, and we look forward to it becoming a part of everyone’s life, becoming everyone’s sun.”
The collaboration, launching in collaboration with Shanghai Fashion Week, aims to highlight and support the creativity of local design talents, bringing more attention to the new generation of Chinese fashion designers.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Garçon by Garçon to launch this highly anticipated fall/winter collection. As one of the most prominent Chinese designer brands, Garçon by Garçon has applied its expertise and iconic design aesthetic to this collaboration,” added Andreas Lowenstam, head of H&M China Design Center.
“We can’t wait to share these cutting-edge creations with fashion enthusiasts and attract more attention to the creativity and influence presented by young Chinese designers.”
